Today was just another day on the prairie roading and working dogs. We had Jackie, Mali, Phoenix, Lucy, Hondo, Kane, Annie and Kate. Pups/young dogs along were: Rick, Brunie, Beau, Bo, Cindy, Lucie, Jessie, Lane, and Liz. The young dogs are learning to work cover, run to the front and are finding birds - Beau and Bo had a find on sharptails, Brunie had 3 finds that she held until puppies flushed the birds and overall it was a great morning, about ready to go work about 10 dogs on some pen raised birds.

Been an eventful couple of days.  We are working dogs daily - 8 dogs a day roading 6-8 puppies gang running on wild birds and whoa training and evaluations and retrievers.

Beau - Making long single retrieves and delivering to hand - heeling and whistle work coming along
Otis - Making nice long single retrieves but still not delivering to hand - heeling and whistle work very nice

Beau- Running well, having a few contacts with wild birds - check cord work coming along

Tina - Whoa doing well and I am pleased with her progress

Bo - Not a bad little puppy

Jessie - Running very well, 5 bird contacts this morning - nice dog

Sassy - Doing alright on whoa and been raised birds she is a little flaggy on point

Cindy - Awesome young dog very pleased

Lucy - Very nice young dog - coming along will be a good hunting dog

All the older dogs that have been broke already have been evaluated and re-training as necessary

More evaluations and training

Mist light rain today when I suited up and harnessed up the dogs for morning roading exercise - Dogs roading were Boss, Tina, Rev, Cordite, Knikki, Hondo. Mali and Lucy. Free running puppies and derbies were: Liz, Sassy (Wilson) Cindy, Jewel, Gunner, Beau, Bow and Abby.

Sassy - Had 3 finds and 2 other contacts
Jewel - 1 Bird contact
Liz - 3 Contacts and 1 find
Cindy - 5 Finds and 3 contacts
Beau - stayed close ventured out some
Bow - Followed about a 1/2 mile and went home
Gunner - Same as Bow

Once rain stops we will get our evaluations and bird work done.

Well we saw some antelope with young today on our way to our training pond. We had Otis and Beau out doing single marks in the water even the old man - Tanner got in the action some - great day training today.

2nd day - Starting training

Well, we started out before day break - roading 8 dogs to start getting them in shape - it was a cool morning a hint of a storm brewing over the horizon and occasional lightning flashes.

Dogs in the roading rig were:  Cordite, Knikki, Annie, Boss, Tina, Lucy, and Chance.  6 miles later we had 8 very tired dogs - Puppies were along - They were Sassy, Cindy, Sue, Bows, Liz and Sassy.  After the first mile they all went back except Cindy, Lizzy, and Sue.  Three bunches of birds were pointed.

After roading we worked our retrievers - Otis and Beau - We were working on heeling, sitting, and whistle work - after doing the yard work we loaded the dogs up and went to do water work.


Whoa post and chain gang work will be done this evening.

1st day at camp

!st day at camp was a busy one - water stations out, roading rig set up. Worked on weed eating around the kennels and got the birds in the pen - giving more directions on what else we need to do - cover looks good - seeing lots of birds on the roads - KMule is set up - will have to change the oil today - working on setting up a roading schedule for the dogs - gonna work on "whoa" post today and also work on obedience with the labs I have in camp. - hopefully we will get more pics to share today and everyday - been a long 2 days - 48 hrs with 4 hrs sleep is tough - got a good nights rest last night and I am bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning

Price increases/change for 2014

Just giving you all a heads up - all prices for 2014 are gonna be standardized.  Prices and multiple dog discounts for 2013 will remain in effect through summer camp 2013

Effective in 2014 the price schedule will be as follows

Puppies/Conditioning dogs $900

All others - IE Field Trial/hunting dogs/derbies $1300

There will be no other discounts available - due to the rising cost of feed and fuel.
